Wild South Coast Way

Project: Walk in Campgrounds, Heysen Trail
Architect: Shannon Architects
Project Value: $2.40 Mill

Harrold & Kite was engaged to construct four new walk-in campgrounds along the Wild South Coast Way, part of the Heysen Trail on the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Located at Newland Head Conservation Park, Balquhidder, Eagle Water Hole, and Tapanappa within Deep Creek National Park, the sites support multi-day walkers with upgraded infrastructure.

Each campground included new camping platforms, amenities buildings, ablution facilities, and water storage, constructed using natural hardwoods and materials that blend seamlessly with the surrounding bushland.

Preserving the environment was paramount. All works were delivered with minimal impact on native flora and fauna, guided by rigorous environmental safeguards and sensitive construction methods.

This project highlights Harrold & Kite’s capability in delivering remote, environmentally conscious infrastructure that enhances outdoor experiences while respecting South Australia’s natural heritage.
