Project: Redevelopment
Architect: DASH
Project Value: $6.38 Mill
Harrold & Kite were proud to be engaged in the redevelopment of the iconic Fort Largs site – an historically significant South Australian landmark that has been closed to the public for more than a century.
The rare opportunity allowed Harrold & Kite to play a central role in bringing new life to the heritage precinct while delivering a contemporary hospitality offering for future public use.
The historic fort, which has fallen into disrepair over many decades, required sensitive and highly specialised restoration. Harrold & Kite took responsibility for sourcing and managing experienced heritage tradespeople to carry out intricate conservation works.
In addition to the heritage works, the project included construction of a new hospitality building, integrated with the existing fort structure.
The modern facility now accommodates cafes, catering, venues, public pavilions, market stalls and supporting amenities, transforming the once dormant site into a vibrant and accessible community destination.
