Project: Catherine Helen Spence Building – New Student Lounge
Architect: Phillips/Pilkington
Project Value: $3.10 Mill
Harrold & Kite was appointed as Managing Contractor to deliver a fast-tracked student lounge redevelopment to meet UniSA’s Open Day deadline. Working closely with UniSA’s Project Manager and lead consultants, Harrold & Kite coordinated the project within a live campus environment under tight time constraints.
The scope included themed lounge zones, offices, meeting rooms, and wet area amenities, all supported by new mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and AV services. Major acoustic treatments were integrated throughout to support diverse activities within the space.
Careful coordination with stakeholders enabled critical shutdowns and significant out-of-hours work programming. This collaborative approach ensured all milestones were met without disruption to ongoing university operations. Detailing of architectural finishes was prioritised across the various themed zones, achieving a refined, high-quality result.
The project was successfully delivered on time, meeting UniSA’s expectations for functionality, design, and finish.
