Project: Blood Donor Centre
Architect: Swanbury Penglase
Project Value: $3.20 Mill
Harrold & Kite delivered the new Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Donor Centre, Adelaide’s flagship facility and, at the time, the largest in the country with 22 donor chairs. Located on the first floor of Regent Arcade, the project involved a full fitout including new lift services, a dedicated ground floor entry, extensive joinery, and upgraded electrical and mechanical systems.
Due to the tight delivery timeframe and the critical Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) inspection process, the project followed a fast-tracked Managing Contractor model. This approach enabled early procurement, ongoing coordination, and rapid issue resolution. High level collaboration across design disciplines and trade partners was essential in meeting TGA’s strict standards and delivering a purpose-built healthcare facility.
The project was a resounding success, completed on time, within budget, and to the exacting specifications required for national healthcare operations, demonstrating Harrold & Kite’s capability in delivering high-performance health infrastructure under demanding conditions.
