Project: Campsite Infrastructure
Architect: Shannon Architects
Project Value: $2.55 Mill
Harrold & Kite was engaged to deliver key campsite infrastructure for the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail, a five-day walk-through Flinders Chase National Park and surrounding conservation areas.
The project involved the planning and construction of four designated campsites carefully positioned along the trail to integrate into the natural landscape. Each site was located within environmentally sensitive bushland, requiring strict adherence to regulatory guidelines, environmental safeguards, and rigorous planning to protect the region’s diverse vegetation and wildlife.
Construction was undertaken with minimal impact, supported by detailed logistics and site management in remote conditions. Durable, low-maintenance materials were selected to suit the natural environment, including sustainably sourced hardwoods, high-grade stainless steel, and Colorbond steel. These materials ensured longevity while blending seamlessly with the surrounding bushland.
This project highlights Harrold & Kite’s capability in delivering high-quality infrastructure within environmentally sensitive settings, balancing functional outcomes with a deep respect for place and sustainability
