Strathalbyn Library

Project: Library and Customer Service Centre Redevelopment
Architect: Brown Falconer
Project Value: $5.20 Mill

Harrold & Kite delivered this important civic project for the Strathalbyn community and Alexandrina Council, involving the demolition of outdated structures and construction of a new state-of-the-art library. The works also included the refurbishment of the adjacent heritage-listed Community Centre, preserving its character while enhancing functionality.

A key feature of the new library was the installation of a specialist Aramex roof system, engineered for long-span, high performance roofing applications. Its architectural profile provided both structural efficiency and visual impact, aligning with the building’s contemporary design.

Extensive external works were also completed, including new carparking, water storage and landscaping to enhance accessibility and community use of the precinct. Delivered over a 45-week construction period, the project successfully integrated modern civic infrastructure with heritage restoration, demonstrating Harrold & Kite’s expertise in delivering complex, multi-faceted projects with technical roofing elements and strong community value.
